Day 11 - October 11, 2013
We had grandeur plans of doing a day trip, but it was rainy and cold. I also didn't feel well and ended up visiting the hospital again to find out if I had UTI. Turns out it was positive, so they prescribed an antibiotic. We left the hospital and stopped at the farmacia to get the medicine right away.
Earlier, we also had found out that my mother was back in the hospital at home. So after getting the medicine we went back to the apartment to see what our options were with the airlines if we needed to get back home in case of an emergency. As usual, it's nothing but a big problem, the airlines said to talk to ultimate rewards, and ultimate rewards said to talk to American Airlines. Neither one knows anything. So at this point we're kind of frustrated and thought we should just go to the airport ourselves to get the information. So out we went to the bus stop to catch bus 37 to take us to Plaza Guizpoka where we would get Bus E21 to take us to the airport. As we arrived at Guizpoka Plaza, E21 was there. Because the bus driver didn't open the far back door where we were, as soon as we did get off, we missed E21 as it pulled away. We would have to wait another hour for the next bus. Forget it and at that point we thought about how many flights would actually be at San Sebastian airport anyway. Not too many and we didn't want to go there for nothing. So back to the apartment we went.
Got information from my daughter and the room number at the hospital where my mother is Gave mom a call and felt better about things once I talked with her. Told her I'd keep in touch to find out what goes on tomorrow. You feel so helpless when you're this far away.
